    Description

1828 Error Fraction 25/50C B.3 R5 Bust quarter, NGC G details, scratched.  Based on our well over 50 years of numismatic experience here at DKRC, we respectfully disagree with NGC's grade on this one.  This coin is anybody's very definition of a strong VG.  The rims are full and dentilation is 100% complete on both sides, LIBERTY is full and bold, the hair shows a decent amount of detail as do the eagle's feathers, which are perhaps 30-35% complete.  Feathers on a Good?  Not typically!  This coin is a solid VG, and a VG10 on most days.  Yes, it does show three heavy scratches across Liberty's profile on the obverse, but that's the extent of the bad news.  The color is attractive and pleasing, the detail level is as we've noted, and - best of all - you decide the price!  Like all of our ebay auction lots, this coin will start at .99c, and sell to the highest bidder at the appointed time, without reserves, games or funny business.  Just like we've been doing right here on ebay for well over 20 years!  Good luck.
If you haven't already, please check out both of the standard works on the Bust quarter series.  Steve Tompkins' wonderful effort has been out for a while, but the book more recently published by Rory Rea, et al is also well worth your attention.  Both are monumental works, and - though they cover the same subject - they are actually quite different.  Both have places of honor in our library, and we strongly suggest that both deserve a similar place in yours.  Please Google either for ordering info.
