You are bidding on a scarce postwar Lionel #240 2-4-2 Steam Locomotive & 242T Tender. This is an uncataloged locomotive that dates from 1964 (motive power for the desirable Sears #9280 military set). This locomotive is generally in excellent+ condition and has no major problems or damage. The plastic boiler is flawless (one tiny front pilot step is missing). The surfaces still have a super nice appearance with very few noticeable contact marks. The cab numbers are clear and bold. The metal parts are rust-free and have excellent original finish. Runs forward and reverse with a 2-position e-unit. Has an operating liquid smoke unit and an operating headlight. This locomotive has been tested and was found to be in running condition. The tender is in excellent condition with no problems or damage. The plastic body is flawless. There are no broken steps. The surfaces still have a super nice appearance with only just a few minute contact marks evident. The lettering is clear and bold. The metal parts are rust-free and have excellent original finish.
