This is a unique lighter produced in Germany in the 1960's for Dunhill. It is made entirely of bronze and measures 8-1/2" long It uses butane fuel and it is in excellent cosmetic condition. The piece remains untested as I do not usually deal with butane lighters selling as is as per age - it may need to be serviced his is a rare collectors item it has a high value as an Alfred Dunhill collectible item ! The height of flame can be adjusted, and the effect of a fire spewing dragon (or serpent) is just amazing! A push down on long lever on his scaley back produces a flame as shown. Dunhill's older catalogues refer to this as their "Fire Breathing Dragon Lighter" This is an exceptionally rare and unique lighter crafted in Germany for Dunhill of London - it is a large table lighter weighing approximately 2 pounds - Simply an elegant lighter with a wonderful patina - made to last and to be a centerpiece of attention and an outstanding conversation piece and cornerstone of every Dunhill Lighter Collection ! A superb but an lighter untested selling as is ! It will need to be filled with Butane lighter fluid and may need to be serviced I have Not tested its functionality other than the spark works great ! A strong spark is produced when unique brass triangular shaped lever on the serpents back is pressed down a spark should ignite when the flammable butane that is emitted from the dragons mouth ! This ferocious looking dragon measures 8 3/8" overall length and is heavy for its size weighing approximately 1 pound 9 ounces. The Lighter does produce an exceptionally strong spark when the lever is depressed. The underside or bottom has the Trade Mark Dunhill / Logo and Made In Germany with the makers mark of Erhard & Sohne. A wonderful unique and collectible table lighter with great patina.
